Hi, I'm the CPA behind the CRNA ProPlan system. For over a decade, I've been helping CRNA contractors in California organize their tax strategy and start feeling confident that they are doing things right.
My journey into CRNA specialization wasn't planned - it evolved from seeing the unique challenges that anesthesia professionals face when transitioning to independent contracting. Traditional CPAs weren't addressing these specific needs, so I created a better solution.

How I became the go-to CPA for CRNA contractors in California.
I started my CPA career in 2010, working with a diverse range of clients and their taxes. Like most CPA's, I thought I could help anyone with their taxes. But I quickly realized that to truly help a client with more complex needs, I needed to drill deeper into their needs. I had a few CRNA clients doing contract work and realized they had unique needs in CA that weren't being met by traditional accounting firms.
The turning point came when I worked with one of my first CRNA contractors who came to me because they had tried to do their own payroll tax reports and was not being drilled by the California's EDD mafia. That's when I realized that CRNA's should stick to their expertise and find help in doing the back-end stuff in their tax journey.
By 2017, I made the bold decision to focus exclusively on CRNA contractors. Many colleagues thought I was crazy to narrow my practice so dramatically, but I knew that specialization would allow me to provide unparalleled value to this underserved community.
I dove deep into understanding the anesthesia profession, studying CRNA income structures, contract structures, and the specific tax challenges that come with this career path. I spoke at the annual CANA conference, and most importantly, listened to hundreds of CRNAs about their financial struggles and goals.
After working with dozens of CRNA contractors, I noticed patterns in their questions, challenges, and needs. They all wanted the same thing: a clear, step-by-step roadmap that would help them navigate the transition from employee to successful contractor without the overwhelming complexity and guesswork.
In 2020, I formalized this approach into what I call the CRNA ProPlan - a comprehensive, step-by-step system that guides CRNAs through every aspect of independent contracting, from business formation to advanced tax strategies. This wasn't just another service; it was a complete methodology that removed the confusion and provided clear action steps.
Today, I'm proud to be recognized as California's leading CPA for CRNA contractors. The CRNA ProPlan has helped over 150 anesthesia professionals successfully transition to independent contracting, saving millions in taxes and building sustainable, profitable businesses.
But I'm not stopping here. My mission is to help every CRNA who wants to become an independent contractor achieve financial success with confidence and clarity. The CRNA ProPlan continues to evolve as tax laws change and as I learn from each client's unique situation.
I strongly believe that we don't live to work but work to live. It's all about designing a lifestyle you love and then adding just enough work to make it happen. I love all things cycling (MTB, Gravel, Road) and mountains. I love spending time in the outdoors and with my van full of kiddos. Family is the reason behind most everything I do.
